Warning! "Cryptowall"

WARNING!

This Blog is about a Virus/Malware that you never want to encounter, but it could happen. It happened to us at AdviseTech on my personal/business machine. It will hurt your data in the worst way possible because it will encrypt all your files and there is no way to unencrypted unless you pay the Ransom the ask for which currently is $ 750.00.

Android phone reset

How to safely reset an Old Android phone before giving it away!

• Don't just do a factory reset. That is not safe and is the equivalent of just reformatting a hard drive the data is still recoverable if you know how.. Make sure the phone Battery is fully charged.

1. First go to Settings on you Android Phone - Security.
2. Now ENCRYPTE THE DEVISE this may take awhile but it will safe you later.
3. After encryption is complete you can now proceed with the factory reset.

This is not something I figured out. Cannot take the credit for it, found it on yahoo and felt this is important to share. Once I find something for IPhone you can be assured I will post it.

Server 2003 Burial Plan

Here we go again.
No sooner did we adjust to the demise of our beloved Win XP OS we are confronted with the End Of Life for Microsoft Server 2003.
Start making Burial Plans (aka plan for after Win sever 2003). Official Date will be July 15th 2015.
Not to far off.

The Demise of Windows XP

Hello and welcome back. I need to get this message out there to all the People like us who really tried to hang on the Windows XP. Sorry but the burial is on April 15th like that isn't a bad enough day to begin with.
Here is the skinny. After all this years XP will no longer receive or has security patches written for it. What does that mean. STOP using XP even if that machine is never going to go back on the internet. You can get infected with Viruses, Malware and other malicious hack simply by inserting a infected CD or USB stick or connect to another machine.

ITS NO LONGER SAFE. STOP USING IT.

I am not trilled to write this but its time to move to Win 7 or even 8 but we are not big fan of 8 just yet. Still has some kinks that need to be worked out.
